Reduce your heating bills and make sure your family is safe.  All gas appliances should be serviced every one to two years for maximum efficiency and to check for carbon monoxide (a lethal colorless, odorless, tasteless gas).  Furnaces will last longer also. Check crawlspace vents for holes, pests are looking for warmth
Bleed sprinkler system and faucets (wrap if necessary)

Stack firewood in a dry area a minimum of five feet from house
Caulk exterior siding cracks
